Our Overarching Goal
To catalyze sustainable economic transformation in Eastern Uganda by empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities with digital skills, entrepreneurial capabilities, and market linkages that enable them to build prosperous livelihoods and contribute to inclusive regional development.
Transforming Lives One by One
The project will directly engage and transform 800 individuals through comprehensive training and mentorship. These beneficiaries are carefully selected from across the four districts of Tororo, Busia, Bugiri, and Namayingo, with intentional inclusion of women, youth, and persons with disabilities to ensure equitable impact.
Creating Local Champions
At the heart of our strategy is the training of 40 successful local entrepreneurs as Trainers of Trainers (ToTs). These champions receive advanced training and are equipped to mentor 20 additional beneficiaries each, creating a powerful multiplier effect that extends the project’s reach and embeds expertise within the communities for long-term sustainability.
From Training to Transformation
The project follows a clear progression: Foundational Digital Skills → Specialized Track Training → Business Incubation Support → Market Linkage → Sustainable Livelihoods. Each stage builds upon the previous one, ensuring beneficiaries are fully supported throughout their journey from novice to successful entrepreneur.
Defining and Measuring Success
For us, success is multi-dimensional and includes:
– Increased household incomes and economic resilience
– Sustainable business growth beyond the initial startup phase
– Improved digital literacy rates across the region
– Stronger cross-border trade networks
– Policy changes informed by our research and evidence
– Stories of personal transformation and community leadership
