Women & Girls

Our Vision for Women & Girls

We envision a society where every woman and girl in Uganda has the power, opportunity, and freedom to shape her own life and contribute to her community. We are committed to dismantling systemic barriers and fostering an environment of gender equality and social justice.

Key Challenges Faced

Limited access to capital, land ownership, and high-value markets.

High prevalence of domestic violence, sexual assault, and harmful practices like child marriage.

Educational Disparities

Girls often drop out due to poverty, early pregnancy, or lack of menstrual hygiene management.

Health Inequities

Limited access to sexual and reproductive health services, leading to high maternal mortality.

Underrepresentation

Low participation of women in leadership and decision-making at household and community levels.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR): Community dialogues and youth-friendly services addressing family planning, STI prevention, and ending teenage pregnancy.

Menstrual Health Management: Distributing reusable sanitary pads and teaching girls how to make them, alongside breaking taboos in schools.

Psychosocial Support: Safe spaces and counseling services for survivors of trauma and violence.

Education & Leadership Development

Girls’ Scholarship Program: Covering school fees, uniforms, and supplies for vulnerable girls in primary and secondary school.

Mentorship Networks: Pairing young girls and women with professional mentors in various fields.

Women’s Leadership Schools: Training in public speaking, advocacy, and civic engagement to prepare women for local council positions.

Legal Literacy Clinics: Educating women on their rights pertaining to land, marriage, inheritance, and protection from violence.

Women Leading the Digital Revolution

From creative entrepreneurs to agri-tech innovators and online freelancers, the women of Eastern Uganda are not just participating in the digital economy—they are leading it. Every skill learned, every business launched, and every boundary broken proves that when women are equipped with technology, they don’t just change their own lives—they transform families, uplift communities, and redefine what’s possible for generations to come.
